We've all heard the old adage "You can't make everyone happy," but when it comes to bridesmaids' dresses, that phrase often turns into "You can't make anyone happy." Picking out dresses that all five (or 15) of your bridesmaids look good in, feel great in, and can afford is a dangerously difficult task. Even with the growing trend of mix-and-match bridesmaids' dresses, it's pretty much certain that at least one of your 'maids will feel like she's been shafted on color, cut, or silhouette (and, trust us, you'll hear about it).
But finally, there's a way to get your leading ladies in on the dress-picking and designing action. Fame and Partners, a Los Angeles-based bespoke clothing site, is enabling brides to do just that at a majorly affordable price point. The company launched its web-only Atelier App just a few weeks ago, and it's already a game changer. "Bridesmaid-dress shopping is such a notoriously difficult process for women that it's become a clichГ©," CEO and founder Nyree Corby says. "We looked at how to solve those issues, how to deliver a social experience that allowed brides and bridesmaids to collaborate on individualized looks for the wedding day."
The app works like this: Brides create a login and input their wedding details (the date of the wedding, how many bridesmaids). They can then design bridesmaids' dresses, choosing a silhouette (from eight options to fit any body type), fabric, color, length, style (draped panels, long sleeves, belted), fit, and size. So whether you're looking for a floor-length champagne shift or a one-shouldered fit-and-flare peach maxi, you can create exactly what you've had in mind. Then you can invite your bridesmaids via email into your group to check out your saved designs or make some of their own. Once everyone's on board, they can order their individual dresses from the site.

Now the much-feared process of shopping for bridesmaids' dresses can be a team project, which should make everyone feel more invested (and, we're hoping, less resentful). And possibly the best news for your bridesmaids? There are no ugly options, so their fears of being put in neon orange ruffles can be laid to rest. Now that's something to celebrate.
