There's not much that Sterling K. Brown does that isn't goals, from his brilliant portrayal of adult Randall on runaway hit This Is Us to his inspirational awards show speeches to his heart-melting relationship with his wife. On any given day (but especially Tuesdays), Brown provides the world with yet another reason to love him. So what's the latest that has his fans (a.k.a. everyone) melting? Brown and his wife, Ryan Michelle Bathe (who also appears on This Is Us), revealed on the 2018 SAG Awards red carpet the story of how they met-and naturally, it's the sweetest thing ever.

Their love story dates back to their freshman year at Stanford University, where the two lived in the same dorm, according to Bathe. But it was their time spent acting in the play Joe Turner's Come and Gone when their relationship truly began, first as friends-because Bathe was dating someone else.

“She got cast in the play… and we would ride bikes to rehearsal, and we would just talk,” Brown revealed to ET Online at the 2018 SAG Awards. “We found out that we were both from St. Louis. We didn't know that we were both from St. Louis, like our parents went to rival high schools. We were born in the same hospital. Like, we were friends. She was dating somebody. Of course she was, she's gorgeous. So we were just buddies.”

“We were homies before everything else, and then it grew,” Brown added.

And while Bathe may have been seeing someone else at the time, she clearly remembers being captivated by Brown and his talents. “I was mesmerized,” Bathe said of her first memory of Brown. “You were 18 years old, and the things that this man could do at 18. Everybody's like, 'Oh, Sterling is amazing. He's amazing.' And I'm like, 'He hasn't even scratched the surface.' At 18 years old, he got on the stage, and wasn't even off book and was Joe Turner. He was 18!”

Brown and Bathe eventually became college sweethearts, married in 2007, and have been serving up #CoupleGoals ever since. It's also worth mentioning that Brown's character Randall also married his college sweetheart, Beth-and their fictional relationship is equally as goals-worthy.
